The MOMS Club® of Birmingham-East, AL

the board members

Becca

President

Becca has been living in Birmingham since 2020.. She is originally from Pennsylvania where she met her husband, Brad. She completed her Master’s degree in Education from Penn State University shortly after welcoming her first baby. She worked in various roles within higher education before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Becca enjoys making new friends, attempting new recipes to “spice things up”, and being crafty.

She loves that Moms Club brings women together who are in the thick of raising young children, or new to the area, which can be the hardest times to foster friendships, .

Samantha

ADMINISTRATIVE vice president

Samantha grew up in Milwaukee, where she met her husband, Spencer. She and her husband moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Birmingham for his job in 2022.. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her son, she spent over seven years working her way up, as a head pastry chef for a prominent high-end catering company just outside of Milwaukee.

She enjoys cooking & baking, spending time outdoors camping & exploring, collecting house plants & gardening and is currently pursuing her love of music by learning to play drums.

As a transplant, Samantha enjoys the laid back atmosphere of MOMS Club and meeting Mom’s in all different stages, while exploring different areas of Birmingham and all it has to offer.  Samantha is honored to be given the opportunity to offer philanthropic opportunities for our members.

Colleen

membership vice president

Colleen grew up in Connecticut and has lived in Birmingham since 2019.. She was an elementary school teacher for a decade before taking a few years off to spend more time with her two children. Colleen loves exploring all Birmingham has to offer and can often be found at the library, zoo, and parks with her kids. In her free time, Colleen enjoys reading, painting, and meeting new friends.

Colleen loves how Moms Club connects local moms and provides fun events that grow genuine relationships amongst members. She believes Moms Club is a wonderful support structure and can't wait to help new members get involved with the group.

Sarah

Treasurer

Originally from Dripping Springs in the Texas Hill County, Sarah moved to Birmingham in 2019 for her husband's medical residency.

She is deeply passionate about creating more equitable education systems and feels fortunate to have been able to stay on as a remote employee for the collective impact nonprofit back in Texas that she’s been with for the past decade.

Being a remote employee and a toddler mom, Sarah was missing having regular playdates. Joining MOMs club has filled that gap and more! She’s especially loved being a part of the book club and getting to know other moms in a meaningful way. Having a group with regular events has been a lifeline for her to not have to constantly come up with fun things to do!

Besides her love of reading and education policy work, Sarah is an avid runner and enjoys early morning Saturday long runs with the Birmingham Track Club where she’s a proud member of the "double-digit" pace group aka the back-of-the-pack party.

Lauren

Secretary

A native of Birmingham, AL, Lauren lives in Vestavia with her husband and toddler. Outside of MOMS Club, Lauren is involved with the Junior League of Birmingham and teaches group fitness classes. She also serves as a sorority advisor at the University of Alabama. She loves MOMS Club because of the connections she’s made with other Mom’s in a similar stage of life.
